In a sentencing hearing in New Brunswick on the night of September 19, the court heard that Mr Adam had bought fake Viagra from a pharmacist and had advertised the sale to men across the country. At the time, he was the only dealer who was a licensed dealer in the area of New Brunswick.

The judge added that Mr Adam had no desire to sell the fake Viagra, as the drug was so cheap.
He had a strong family history of selling counterfeit products, with his father serving a prison sentence for his daughter’s suicide, his grandfather being a tax-collector, and his great-grandmother a pharmacist.
The judge noted that Mr Adam was “very happy” with the case, but said: “I am very concerned about the safety of this young man who was involved in this business and who would be charged with the sale of counterfeit medicines.”
The judge also heard Mr Adam would be charged with the sale of counterfeit medicines and other offences, including the sale of “numerous” counterfeit Viagra to others, and was found to be “disproportionate”.
The judge added: “There was a serious risk that he would be charged with a serious offence.
